COUNSELLING / PSYCHOTHERAPY

A GREAT SUPPORT FOR EVERYBODY

I view my work as a vocation and see my attitude to counselling and psychotherapy as being of equal importance to my extensive qualifications.

I have worked online using Skype and Zoom, in both English and Italian, for several years but more so since the start of the pandemic.

We all have to stop with the common stigma and prejudice about psychotherapeutic support.  We all go either to the dentist or the optician for our teeth or eyes, so when our mind needs any kind of help we need to go to a psychotherapeutic practitioner. Many people already engage with counselling/psychotherapy in some form, yet there are countless who don’t but would benefit from it. Mental well-being is one of the great challenges of our modern society. Depression and anxiety are classless conditions, which can equally affect the life of any body.

When we go through periods in our life that seem very difficult, we can often feel isolated and alone, Therapeutic Counselling/Psychotherapy are completely confidential and allow us to explore our difficulties and find ways to accept or overcome troubles in our life. The aim of my practice is to work with clients, to help them to accept or find solutions to their problems.

I am a native Italian language qualified Therapeutic Counsellor / Psychotherapist. For information in Italian about how I work, please click here.

I have a private practice in Central London and work with individuals and organisations for a wide range of problems including:

  • health
  • stress and anxiety
  • PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • work related issues
  • adolescent and family issues
  • eating disorders
  • difficulty with relationships
  • couple counselling
  • bereavement and loss

I specialise in assisting people who have come from outside the United Kingdom to work and live in this country, as I have extensive professional experience helping people tackle the difficulties of living with different cultural backgrounds and influences.

I have been working for more than 10 years for the NHS as first CAMHS Practitioner (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service) and then EWMHS clinician (Emotional Wellbeing Mental Health Service). I am specialised in working with young people, their parents and families in order to promote social skills and emotional wellbeing and build up their confidence and self-esteem to prevent mental health problems in their future.

I strongly support Equal Opportunities and Anti-discriminatory practice in all that I do.

Psychological intervention via Skype is effective and convenient for both patient and therapist. It is another way to be supported and helped when we need. In my private practice I was asked by my patients who were not able to attend the sessions regularly if I could see them via Skype or if I could support parents, relatives or friends who live abroad, so in other words, I was encouraged to work via Skype too. It has been a while now that I have started supporting patients via this new method and I have to admit that there is no difference to having them in person. Confidentiality is still imperative as the ethical framework is respected in full and patients can feel more comfortable being in their familiar environment.
